Hardwax is a product that does need a little bit of loving care, But if loving care is given it can outlast polyurethane, Hardwax is patch repairable and re coatable, Manufacturers have many exceptional maintenance products to make the ordeal very easy to carry out, You do not need to shift your furniture out every time you give it a clean as you only need to maintain whats in use (being walked on) Hardwax slowly wears away, but the maintenace given usually tops up the wax by way of polish, which is easily applied.
How long will hardwax last, really depends on you.
For a single part 100% Poly, Manufacturers generally give between 5 and 7 years depending on traffic, Which is about right, but some flooring is given constant abuse by pets, children and the dreaded wet mop, So it really does depend on how you look after the flooring, A shoe ban in the home will extend the life no end, lots of hoovering with a soft brush and an occasional clean with a decent cleaner ideally the recommended product for the varnish used, will keep your floor looking beautiful and add lifespan. Generally if you look after your flooring it can last forever, Let it go and before long you'll be shelling out for refurb or replacement.
